LAREDO, TX – The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Wednesday that they have signed forward Maxime Lincourt for the 2009-10 season. Lincourt is entering his third professional season, and his first in the CHL.
The 22-year-old Lincourt has played in a total of 105 professional games in the ECHL and IHL, putting up a total of 61 points (25-36=61).
“Maxime is a highly touted forward who will help us quite a bit,” said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. “I tried to get him last season but couldn’t, we are excited to have him on the roster this year.”
Lincourt, a native of Montreal, Quebec, scored 53 points (24-29=53) in 70 games last season splitting time with the IHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks and Flint Generals. Lincourt played 46 games for Muskegon and scored 32 points (15-17=32), before being traded to Flint and putting up 21 points (9-12=21) in 24 games.
“I really like Maxime’s game, I feel he can be a top-liner here for us,” Ruskowski said.
The 6’1, 200-pound Lincourt started his pro career in 2007-08 in the ECHL, where he scored eight points (1-7=8) in 35 games with Bakersfield and Elmira.
Lincourt played four full junior seasons from 2003-2007, suiting up for four different QMJHL teams. In 253 junior contests Lincourt put up 147 points (63-84=147), and appeared in 23 playoff games.
In 2005-06 Lincourt set several career highs, including goals (30), assists (36) and points (66) in 67 games with Rimouski.
Lincourt is the 18th Buck signed this off-season, including the ninth player with at least one year of professional experience.
