Americans Release Craig, Add Straub

The Allen Americans have released center Tom Craig to make room for defenseman Brandon Straub, who was assigned to the club by the Texas Stars, the Dallas Stars’ AHL affiliate.  The Americans are the Stars’ CHL affiliate.  I have hit all the high points of the release, but you can read it for yourself below, and find Brandon Straub’s stats after that.

ALLEN, Texas – The Americans announced the release of center Tom Craig today and the addition of defenseman Brandon Straub. Straub was assigned to the Americans from the Texas Stars, the Dallas Stars’ American Hockey League affiliate.

Straub, a graduate of Colorado College, is entering his third season of professional hockey. The six-foot-four, 223-pound Colorado Springs native played in 60 games and acquired 141 penalty minutes last year between the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL and the Quad City Flames of the AHL.

The Americans open the season on the road in Arizona Friday at 9:05 p.m. CST.
