Lance Monych

Lance Monych of the Laredo Bucks has left the team to play overseas for the rest of the season.  His departure from the team is a bit of a surprise, and no further information has been given as to why he chose to leave so abruptly, leaving fans and teammates to speculate.  I won’t venture any guesses, but it certainly was a bit of a surprise to hear.  The Bucks have placed Monych on team suspension for the remainder of the season.  There are some stats and a little more info to be gleaned from the press release the team issued below:

LAREDO, TX - The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Wednesday that Lance Monych has left the team to play overseas for the rest of the 2009-10 season. As a result the Bucks have placed Monych on team suspension for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old Monych put up 20 points (10-10=20) in 25 games for the Bucks this season and had a minus one rating.

Monych started the season by scoring points in the Bucks first six games (4-5=9) and then went scoreless in Laredo’s next seven games. Monych was placed on the 14-day IR and missed seven games from November 28th-December 8th. He returned on December 11th and scored a point in six of his last 10 games with the team.

Monych has been placed on team suspension immediately and has already left Laredo.
