As I mentioned on Twitter late last night when I saw the wire transaction, the Texas Stars today confirmed that right wing Tyler Shelast has been reassigned to the Allen Americans.  While this may be a bit disappointing at first for Shelast, he has struggled with his game at the AHL level this year, and in Allen he will have a chance to really help out an Americans team still pushing for that top seed in the Southern Conference.

Last year with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads, he was able to be a nice depth guy, and really help the team along at the end of the year, finishing with 21 points (9G, 12A) through 31 games.

Shelast appeared in 32 games for Texas this season, scoring twice and adding three assists for five points. The Kelowna, BC native is in his second pro season, playing in a total of 91 games with 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 career points

He joined the team in Allen on Friday, and will be in the lineup for their game against the Mississippi RiverKings at the Allen Event Center.
