The Texas Stars announced that the AHL has suspended center Warren Peters for one game because of a boarding major he took in Game Four on Wednesday night.

You can see the hit here, just under halfway through the clip.  It’s a pretty blatant boarding penalty, and not a big surprise that the league acted to hand out additional time on it.

Also out for Game Five is Stars’ defenseman Garrett Stafford who is serving the final game of a three-game suspension for an elbowing incident in Game Two of the Stars’ Division Final series.

The press release from the league is below:

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Texas Stars center Warren Peters has been suspended for one (1) game as a result of his actions in a game vs. Chicago on May 5.

Peters was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 29.1 (supplementary discipline).

Peters will miss Game 5 (tonight) of the West Division Final playoff series between the teams.
